Oscillation Fit
Not only do we use two different PIDs to create two sets of νμ/νe samples, but the way we perform the final fits is different as well.
- The Track Based Analysis (TBA) performs does a fit for the oscillation parameters to the EνQE distribution for the νe sample; the νμ sample is used to constrain and correct the Monte Carlo.
- The Boosted Decision Tree Analysis (BDT) also does a fit for the oscillation parameters to the EνQE distribution for the νe sample, but the the νμ sample is simultaneously fit to minimize the Χ2. Within the Χ2 is a matrix containing the correlations in the systematic errors of the νe and νμ, and the corresponding final systematic error on the νe are reduced from the νμ sample.
- The NC π0 is used to constrain the mis reconstructed NC π0s. Events from outside the tank (e.g. gammas that don't fire the veto) are constrained with an enhanced sample of such events.
