Basic DAQ & Electronics Info
The 13 QT crates are 9U VME, trigger is 6U VME.
10 Tank crates (1280 channels), 2 Veto crates (240 channels), 1 Aux crate (16 timing signals, digital readout of muon tracker), 1 Trigger crate.
Each VME crate has its own 333MHz Motorolla 2304 "monoboard" or SBC (single-board computer). These do the acquisition, zero-suppression on the QT crates, and run the trigger as well.
DAQ software under Linux operating system (kernel 2.2).
TCP (ethernet) sockets transfer data between VME crates and host computer.
Many self-consistency checks in the software to ensure data integrity even under adverse conditions.
