The Java Vax Console
When to Use the Java VAX Console to Monitor the Beamline
One should normally monitor the beamline from ACNET Console 22 -- the PC located in the MiniBooNE control room.
However, that machine has, on occassion, failed.
In that case, use the Java Console to monitor the beamline.
NOTE: The beam position can always be monitored using the BullsEye Plot, which does not rely on Console 22.
Using the Java VAX Console to Monitor the Beamline
The Accelerator Controls group has provided a java interface to ACNET.
This interface may be used over the web.
- Go to the
ACNET Java console (Linux)
This will automatically start a Java version of the ACNET console.
During the Linux migration, you may also try
ACNET Java console (VAX)
- Use the applications (such as D44/Lumberjack) as always.
This is just a different interface.
- You may click on the "Px Window Start" button to start an application window.
- Remember to hit the return key, in addition to mouse-clicking, in order to change any fields.
- You may have to tell the program explicitly to display a plot.
Do this by clicking on the "Draw GxPxn" button (it will be highlighted in dark blue).
You may have to refresh manually, also.
